Art in Action
A series of projects that harness the I.M. Weiss Gallery family of artists to not only draw attention to serious needs in our broader community, but create an opportunity to help.
Art in Action sets out to remind us that change begins with one (seemingly small) action amplified through collective and consistent effort. I know I am not alone in feeling overwhelmed and helpless in this world that feels as though it is crumbling beneath us. I have been asking myself, “as just one person, what can I do?”
Art in Action is my response. Because I believe, now more than ever, art is an important catalyst for change. Art is a lens through which we can see our world - the good and the bad - with a perspective that is not our own or one filtered through an algorithm designed to appeal to our own desires. Because of this, art has the power to make us think, bring us together, and move us into action.
Art in Action channels this power very deliberately to function as a direct tool for change in our community.
