Handwerk is not about recontextualizing craft or even looking at specific traditions within craft … it was born from our belief that the handmade object is a vessel of tradition [no pun intended] and from tradition we can find strength and solace as we navigate the complexities of contemporary life.
As we shape our environment with the objects we acquire and collect we build a narrative. For each and every object carries with it a story - of where it came from, how it was made, who made it, what draws us to it and how we use it.
