Bryan Rees
is a Detroit-based artist and metalsmith.
Bryan received a BFA in Craft and Material Studies with a focus in Metalsmithing & Fine Jewelry from the College for Creative Studies 21’ and has shown work in the Smithsonian Craft Show in Washington, D.C.
Utilizing a hammer and sheet metal to create his distinct vessel forms. Bryan observes nature for his main source of inspiration, specifically a parasitic plant called the Strangler Fig, which is known to grow in beautiful and stretching patterns. Each of his pieces are completely unique and offer a glimpse of the intention behind each strike.
