Alex Drew and NO ONE Alex Rosenhaus + Drew Arrison
is a Brooklyn-born/Detroit-based design studio founded in 2010 by Alex Rosenhaus and Drew Arrison. AD&NO develops modern furniture and objects exuding a sense of geometry and balance. The AD&NO practice is driven by careful consideration of materials, function and form and discovering new ways to combine traditional woodworking and technology to create striking furniture and objects.
Alex is a Detroit native who, after graduating with a degree in furniture design from The Savannah College of Art and Design in 2006, moved to New York. In New York she immediately began working for the acclaimed custom furniture company Walter P. Sauer. While at Walter P. Sauer she designed, drafted, project managed, and fabricated projects for over 5 years. There she worked with many of Architectural Digest's Top 100 interior designers and architects. Alex is a fourth generation builder who specializes in green building as well as exotic woods, skins (parchment, leather, and shagreen), and furniture engineering.
Drew is a Memphis native who, after studying film and television production at The University of Memphis, moved to Los Angeles where he worked in production for The Simpsons television program assisting and coordinating over 200 episodes. After a decade in Los Angeles he spent several years in London working on television projects before moving to New York. In New York he worked for Clockwork-Apple, a design and model making studio, creating commercial work for clients including Hewlett-Packard, Tiffany & Co., and Stella Artois, as well as working in set design for clients including Neiman Marcus and Vogue.
ALEX DREW & NO ONE is a culmination of Alex and Drew's individual creative development and years of collaboration, presenting a distinctive design vernacular through product lines that explore the beauty and sophistication of materials and form through unexpected geometry. Since moving the AD&NO practice to Detroit in 2013, Alex and Drew have developed a catalogue that includes such notable designs as the Lily Dining Table and the Quad Diamond set of coffee tables, which have sold to private and commercial clients around the world. AD&NO produce lines of furniture and objects now sold through design retailers around the United States, including New York and Nashville.
"Simply, we design because we want to be surrounded by beautiful objects and we are endlessly curious about how things work."
